Rebecca 'Becky' Jones, M.A., LPC

Hello!

I was born in New Orleans, LA, and lived most of my childhood through adulthood on the sunny east coast of Melbourne, Florida! I earned my Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, FL in 2014, taught 1st and 3rd grade for two years there at a Title 1 school, and then earned my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University in 2020.

My husband and I moved to Virginia in 2018 to be closer to the mountains and seasons, and this is when I completed my graduate internship and post-graduate counseling residency for 3 years while under supervision. I earned my LPC in April of 2023 and started my private practice, Heaven’s Rays Ministries, LLC shortly after.

I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and the geriatric population over the past 5 years in the mental health field doing intensive in-home services, outpatient counseling, and equine-assisted psychotherapy.

My clients would describe me as personable, empathetic, compassionate, and supportive. My therapeutic framework is integrative but with an emphasis on person-centered, faith-based, solution-focused, psychodynamic, and strengths-based modalities. I enjoy collaborating with my clients and genuinely care and want the best for them.

I enjoy having a variety of interventions such as art, play, games, assessments, worksheets, psychoeducation, and active listening. I like to meet my clients where they are at and help them create goals, identify negative thinking patterns and beliefs, and offer practical insight and problem-solving along the way.  I am thrilled to be able to offer my counseling services outside in a country setting with access to animals, nature, horses, and trails, and I believe this is very therapeutic for both myself and my clients.

In my free time, I love to spend time with family and friends, hike, play pickleball, travel, watch detective shows (I am a big Law and Order fan), horseback ride, be in nature, play with my 5 sweet and sassy cats, and do “horsey” things with my rescue Arabian horse named Naji, which means “survivor” in Arabic.

I look forward to meeting you and being part of your healing journey!
